Traffic Engineer/Transportation Planner – Charlotte, NC

Role Description:
This is a full-time role for a Traffic Engineer/Transportation Planner, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Traffic Engineer will be responsible for performing and overseeing data collection, conducting traffic analyses, preparing technical reports, coordinating the work of technical staff, data collection personnel, and interns. The role will require travel to meetings and job sites, as necessary.
Job Duties:
- Perform and oversee data collection
- Prepare technical analyses including capacity analyses (Traffic Impact Analysis) and parking analyses
- Conduct bicycle and pedestrian evaluations
- Prepare technical reports
- Coordinate the work of technical staff, data collection personnel, and interns
- Perform engineering/planning work with supervision
- Travel to and from job sites, other offices, and meetings, as required
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT / Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
- 2 to 4 years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning
- Experience using Synchro, SimTraffic, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience conducting trip generation analyses and traffic impact studies
- Knowledge of AutoCAD a plus
- Signal design experience is a plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills
