Employee Benefits | Wells + Associates

W+A Benefits

Wells + Associates provides a full range of benefits for our employees, with eligibility determined by an employee’s status and scheduled work hours. Brief descriptions of some of our benefits can be found here.

In addition to these benefits, because Wells + Associates is an employee-owned company, employees are eligible to participate in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), in which they are incentivized to improve the company’s performance, stimulate future growth, and build additional value for themselves, their families, and their fellow team members.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

Paid time off is our system for providing both vacation time or annual leave and sick leave for eligible employees. This system is more flexible than separate annual vacation and sick leave time because you can decide for yourself how many of your paid days off you will use for vacation, and how many days you will need to save in case you become ill, need a mental health break, or face unexpected family issues that require your immediate attention.

Holidays

In addition to a healthy number of PTO hours per year, we offer nine holidays per year so employees can celebrate with family and friends or just recharge while unplugged from work responsibilities.

Health Insurance

Medical, vision, and dental insurance is offered for all employees working more than 20 hours per week. A significant portion of the health insurance premiums are covered by W+A. Three PPO medical plans are offered as options for varying coverage tiers to fit the needs of employees and their families. Vision and dental plans provide competitive coverage.

Short + Long-Term Disability

Short-term disability is leave granted to all regular full-time employees at a portion of their regular rate of pay when an approved illness or injury prohibits the continuation of work. Long-term disability is intended to assure a portion of an employee’s pay during a prolonged illness or disability after she/he has exhausted her/his paid time off and after the short-term disability has been maximized.

Retirement Plans

As noted above, W+A is an employee-owned company. As an ESOP, all eligible employees are allocated company shares annually into a qualified retirement plan. In addition to the ESOP, we offer a traditional 401(k) plan with an employer match on employee contributions.

Bereavement Leave

W+A’s bereavement provides for days of administrative leave that can be used at the time of death of a member of the employee’s immediate family and for other family members.

Jury + Witness Duty

At W+A, we believe in supporting our team members’ civic duties, including jury duty responsibilities. Employees are compensated at their regular salary while serving as jurors. We pay employees the difference between their salary and court payment for jury duty. This policy also includes support for witness duty when employees are called to appear in court for witness duty when subpoenaed to do so.

Flexibility to Vote

W+A encourages all employees to exercise their right to vote. Flexibility regarding schedules on election day are respected so that employees can navigate their work schedule and their voting right.

Military Leave

The Company complies with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). Employees, other than those whose employment was for a brief, non-recurrent period, who perform duty on a voluntary or involuntary basis in one of the uniformed services, retain the right to be re-employed if the absence does not exceed five years.

Family + Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

FMLA requires covered employers to provide up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave to eligible employees for various reasons, including incapacity due to pregnancy, prenatal medical care, or childbirth; care for the employee’s child after birth, or placement for adoption or foster care; care for the employee’s spouse, son or daughter, or parent who has a serious health condition; and for serious health conditions that make an employee unable to perform their job.
