Senior Program Specialist – TDM & Mobility Management Team

The primary function of the Senior Program Specialist is to lead program development and implementation of various types of real estate-based transportation demand management/mobility marketing and operations projects.  In addition, the Senior Program Specialist will serve as an advocate for alternative transportation options (i.e., transit, bike, walk, carpool, carshare, etc.).

The Senior Associate supports TDM projects to drive strong commuter engagement, optimal campaign performance and increased adoption of alternative modes of transportation.  The individual may also oversee the research, interpretation, and communication of data for TDM Monitoring and Evaluation projects as well as Compass, our program management platform.

Duties and Responsibilities

Program Development
  • Define goal(s)
  • Identify audience(s)
  • Craft clear messaging
  • Identify incentives for engaging targeted people and organizations
  • Identify outreach methods
  • Develop tools or measures to assess progress
Communications + Marketing
  • Develop content for newsletters, blogs, websites, and social media posts
  • Promote transportation options for visitors, workers, and residents
  • Distribute communications to employers, developers, and property managers
  • Develop and implement quality control measures for content development, review and implementation
Project Management
  • Responsible for project start up documentation, kick off meetings, contract management and project close out documentation.
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining project budget and profit (as noted in project start up documentation).
  • Maintain project schedule.
  • Manage project team.
  • Responsible for on time invoicing and accounts receivable.
  • Provides transparent documentation to administration and management on project status and notification of any project issues.
Business Development
  • Assist with business development functions including networking events, proposal development and client relations.
  • Assists with tracking of area business development opportunities, RFPs, RFQs and other relevant activities.
  • Maintains and strengthens relationships with key clients and employer partners.
  • Monitors industry statistics/applications and follow trends in trade literature.
  • Lead client relations/customer service tasks.
  • Lead preparation for and completion of regular meetings with clients and partners.
  • Train staff, as applicable
  • Function as an active participant in TDM Team level decision making
  • Adhere to organizational values: communication, expectations, strategic + integrated planning, employee ownership + drive, and passion + commitment
  • Ensure product/service quality is maintained and improved
TDM Division Support
  • Assists TDM Team leads and ensures the office is in good working order, including:
    • Ensures office equipment and machinery is in good working order.
    • Selects vendors, in consultation with administration team.
    • Organizes company mailings (open house, holiday cards, etc.)
    • Organizes card and gift opportunities (holiday, expressions of sympathy, birthday, etc.) for clients and co-workers
    • Organizes office social events (holiday parties, going away parties, etc.)

This position is housed at Wells + Associates headquarters in Tysons, VA.  The TDM team is currently using a hybrid work schedule which requires staff to be in the office 2-3 days per week for collaborative purposes.  The office is located moments away from the Silver Line’s Spring Hill Metro station. The location also provides immediate access to regional transportation arteries, including Interstates 495 and 66 and Routes 7 and 267.
