Senior Traffic Engineer / Transportation Planner

Duties

  • Perform advanced, specialized engineering/planning work requiring independent judgment
  • Manage client relationships
  • Prepare and manage proposals and budgets
  • Coordinate and lead the work of junior staff on multi-faceted projects
  • Train and mentor junior staff
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Perform QA/QC procedures
  • Present information and/or findings to public agencies, review boards, governing bodies, and community groups
  • Participate in W+A internal committees to assist the company in achieving its overall goals
  • Other duties as directed by Principal Associates

      Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

      • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning, or equivalent experience
      • P.E. License or AICP Certification
      • 10+ years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning
      • Project management experience
      • Strong oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation experience
      • Proficiency with traffic analysis software, (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM preferred)
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
      • Experience training and mentoring junior staff
      • Has some experience with consulting
      • Drivers’ license and personal transportation
      • Authorization to work in the U.S.
