Fairfax County Gives Green Light to Additional Mixed Use Development at Tysons Corner Mall

This week, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors gave approval to Macerich, owners of Tysons Corner Center, to develop another million square feet of its property. This action will complete the mall’s transformation plan providing for about 3.5 million square feet of additional mixed use space, including three new apartment buildings, office, retail, and park space.

In support of the Fairfax County Comprehensive Plan, this redevelopment of Tysons Corner Center will create an urban center with a live, work, and play environment emphasizing public transportation through proximity to the proposed Tysons Central 123 Metro Station, and a corresponding Travel Demand Management (TDM) program.
