Well, that was intense. What started off innocently at the beginning of November as a goodwill activity ended up unleashing competitive spirits across all the Wells + Associates offices. As our Social Committee co-chair John Schick reported at the completion of our Canned Food Drive on November 22: “In total, W+A collected a whopping 2,751 food items for needy families this holiday season!”
By the final week of our food drive, last week, rumor and innuendo was thriving – all of it in a great spirit of fun. “Team X is doing a Peapod food delivery.” “Team Y is sending purchase money to their buyer via Venmo.” And so on. Who knew that our cross-office teams could be so secretive, and cunning?
So who won? We congratulate the Green Team, who collected 805 food items for the needy. Their reward? They get to pick the charity, and then they get to deliver ALL the items from the teams.
Well, with the exception of our Denver office, but that’s a special story …
A special shout-out has to go to the Pink Team in our Denver office. They turned their “only two people on our team” dilemma into an advantage: they recruited many of our Colorado industry partners who collected 601 items. That’s second place! Thank you to Bowman Consulting, Collins Engineers Inc., CORE Consultants, Davis Partnership Architects, Dewberry, Galloway, Langan, Page, R&R Engineers Surveyors Inc., and Spaces for your help and participation in our food drive! You guys rock.
