Marketing Content Manager
This position is located in Tysons, Virginia. The primary function of the Marketing Content Manager is to implement the company’s marketing strategy and plans. This is a unique position that empowers a talented individual to express their content marketing skills across a range of activities for a company that has a track record of collaboration and innovation in marketing.
Reporting to the VP of Business Development and working as a key member of the marketing department, the Marketing Content Manager will have a variety of responsibilities, including: writing, editing, and developing content for marketing campaigns; managing website content and social media accounts; proposal/pitch development; event and photography management; and collaborating in graphic design/branding, email marketing, and other marketing activities.
These marketing activities will be driven by marketing plans and goals set by company leadership, practice leaders, and associates responsible for client relations and the growth of the business. The company’s marketing is also informed by SEO best practices, social media marketing best practices, the cultural values of the company, brand standards, and marketing budgets.
Duties and Responsibilities
General
- Act as an integral part of the marketing team by writing; editing; and publishing, posting, and preparing content for the company’s website, email newsletters, and social media accounts.
- Collaborate with fellow marketing team members to implement marketing and business development plans and goals.
- Support and assist the VP of Business Development and other company strategists to implement marketing activities and campaigns that support marketing and business development plans and goals.
- Collaborate with the company’s graphic designer to extend the corporate visual brand in all marketing content, collateral, and messaging.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage the company’s participation in trade shows, conferences, events, recruitment events, and/or meetings as prioritized in marketing plans.
- Maintain an inventory and repository of marketing support materials, including proposals, RFP responses, written materials, marketing collateral, and photos and images, making sure all resources are accurate and current while coordinating new material creation as needed.
- As required by the situation, coordinate, lead, and/or collaborate with team members on the development, reuse, and organization of marketing content, notably in digital channels.
- Assist and coordinate in the preparation of technical proposals and/or RFPs.
- Conduct and collaborate on research to analyze competitive landscape, market trends, customer activity, and keyword/SEO opportunities.
Skill Specific
- Fluent command of English.
- Experience in copywriting and editing; experience in online publishing such as blogging is a plus.
- Writing skills including spelling, grammar, and technical accuracy.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.
- A creative orientation with knowledge of photo- and video-editing software such as Canva is preferred.
- An understanding and experience with website technologies such as WordPress, HTML, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO software.
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills as well as a team-oriented mindset and approach.
- Experience in the design and execution of social media campaigns, notably on LinkedIn.
- Experience in the design and production of print materials and publications.
- Skill in communicating marketing and communication processes and issues to marketing and non-marketing team members.
- Experience in and openness to identifying and implementing innovative marketing and communication tools and processes.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or a relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in marketing is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate clearly with various departments including graphic design, technical staff, business development associates, as well as vendors, contractors, and freelancers.
- Project management experience and time-management skills for juggling numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously. Familiarity with project management software is also an asset.
- Good computer skills for generating reports, viewing marketing metrics, extracting data, and sharing this information with other team members in project updates. Working knowledge of basic computer applications, programs, and features is a must with experience in web page development or graphic design being very helpful.
- Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
