The existing development consisted of approximately 120,000 S.F. of retail space, much of which is vacant; 150,000 S.F. of office space; 45,000 S.F. of restaurants; and a 1,560-seat cinema.

Montgomery County awarded Lot 31 Associates rights to redevelop Lot 31/31A, a 279-space surface parking lot on the south side of Bethesda Avenue at Woodmont Avenue in the Bethesda Central Business District. Lot 31 Associates built two residential buildings with approximately 245 market-rate, workforce, and moderately-priced units; and 42,000 S.F. of ground-level retail space – all above a 1,480 parking space garage.

Stop and Shop, the parent company of Giant Food, plans to transform a moribund supermarket, half-vacant retail stores, and surface parking lots into a vibrant, mixed-use town center in the affluent Cleveland Park neighborhood of Washington, DC. Street-level retail shops and four floors of apartments will be built above one level of underground parking on the North Parcel. Two levels of retail shops, office space, and a modern supermarket will be built above two levels of underground parking on the South Parcel.
