Jon McBride manages operations, strategy, and business development for BreakShuttle, a Wells + Associates company that serves universities and their student population by providing direct, safe, and affordable transportation directly to and from campus during academic breaks.
With a background in the transportation, information technology, and creative sectors, Jon works with universities and colleges seeking to expand and enhance mobility options for students. He develops and manages BreakShuttle’s operational and logistical processes and technology while leading the company’s continued expansion to additional campuses throughout the country. In this role, he works directly with Wells + Associates’ university transportation team which has provided planning, sustainability, and traffic engineering services to college communities for over two decades.
Jon regularly speaks about emerging transportation issues, including public-private partnership, data-driven governance, and policy surrounding shared mobility, autonomous vehicles, and decarbonizing transport. He was a contributor to the International Transport Forum report, Shaping the Relationship Between Public Transport and Innovative Mobility, presented to the ITF-OECD Governance of Transport Summit in 2017.
Prior to joining W+A, Jon developed strategic partnerships and implemented scalable, sustainable micro-transit pilots at BRIDJ, a transportation startup focused on using demand aggregation and real-time traffic information to provide more efficient and accessible transportation, improve travel times, and capture valuable data to inform future decision making.
